In our conversations with prospective clients, we often hear people wondering if it is not prohibitively expensive to build in a sustainable manner. We believe that the opposite is true, that as individuals and as a society, we cannot afford to build our structures using designs and materials that consume our scarce resources in an inefficient manner, or that create large amounts of toxic waste through the creation, use and disposal of the products, which will poison our water, air and soil. In fact, many of the sustainable design features that we encourage our clients to adopt, such as super-insulated walls, solar hot water systems, and location of windows according to principles of passive solar design, either do not cost more than the alternatives or will pay for themselves with the savings they generate in little time.

Because we were founded as a company with a mission to improve the sustainability of the built environment, rather than to generate profits for our shareholders, we are eager to grow our business quickly (at a measured and manageable pace) and we have intentionally kept our profit margins very low and our pricing extremely competitive with conventional builders so that we may promote our mission more effectively.
